Rules
- Each player/team shall take turns throwing. (Three darts in succession shall constitute a “turn”).
- A player/team scores by landing a dart within a designated number area (15-20).
- To own/close a number, the player/team must score three of a number. This can be accomplished with three singles, a single and a double, or a triple.
- A “single” score constitutes landing a dart in the larger areas within the designated number. A “double” score constitutes landing a dart within the outermost “ring” of the dartboard (red/green areas around the outside of the dartboard). A “triple” score constitutes landing a dart within the innermost “ring” of the dartboard (red/green areas in the smallest areas within the dartboard).
- The outer bullseye ring is worth 25 points and the inner circle (or double bull) is worth 50 points.
- Once a player/team scores three of a number, it is “owned” by that player/team. When a player/team “owns” a number, he/they may then score points on that number until the opponent is then able to “close” that number. Any points that are achieved from hitting your “owned” number during the player/team’s turn are added to your team’s current point total.
- Once both players/teams have scored three of a number, it is “closed,” and no further scoring can be accomplished on that number by either player/team.
- Numbers can be “owned” or “closed” in any order desired by the individual player/team. Calling your shot is not required.
- For the purpose of “owning” a number, the player/team will designate its marks by creating an “X” for the first and second times a number is scored. Three marks will then own/close a number (designated by a circled X).
- After a number is “owned” by a team, the double and triple ring shall count as 2 or 3 times the number that is hit, respectively.
- Example: if a 17 is already “owned” by a team, and that team then hits a double on 17, it will count as 34 points (17x2=34) to be added to the previous team score.
- To “own”/”close” the bullseye, the outer bullseye counts as a single and the inner bullseye counts as a double.
- It shall be the responsibility of the player to verify his score before removing his darts from the dartboard. The score remains as written if one or more darts has been removed from the dartboard. In accordance with the inherent "strategy" involved in the Cricket game, no alterations in score shall be allowed, after the fact.
Ending the Game:
- Once a player/team “owns” all their numbers and bullseye, the game play stops immediately.
- Then, points are calculated to determine the winner.
- A 25 minute time limit for game play will be enforced. If the game is not over at the 25 minute mark, each player will have one more turn.
